Deep healing. Rooted worth. Real transformation
Hi, I'm Norma, a Licensed Therapist and Somatic Healing Practitioner based in Los Angeles, California. I help individuals heal relationship wounds, release generational patterns, and reclaim their self-worth so they can feel grounded in their bodies, confident in love, and aligned with a life that feels peaceful and purposeful.
As a First-Generation Latina and daughter of Mexican immigrants, I intimately understand what it means to carry responsibility early—to be the strong one, the caretaker, the achiever. For years, I appeared high-functioning on the outside while quietly navigating anxiety, burnout, and emotional disconnection on the inside.
My healing journey began when I realized that survival is not the same as safety and that true, lasting healing doesn’t start in the mind alone. It starts in the body.
With over a decade of experience and a Master’s in Social Welfare from UCLA, I’ve supported hundreds of clients through trauma, attachment wounds, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My work is rooted in culturally affirming, somatic, and trauma-informed therapy, honoring both lived experience and nervous system science.
I integrate Somatic Trauma Therapy, Brainspotting, EMDR (in training), and energetic & ancestral healing approaches to help clients release emotional pain without re-traumatization. This work supports you in feeling regulated in your body, secure in relationships, and reconnected to who you truly are.
I believe healing doesn’t have to take years of reliving the past. With the right support and embodied tools, it’s possible to move from survival mode into inner safety, clarity, and genuine thriving.
You deserve to feel secure in your body, grounded in your worth, and at ease in your relationships. If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I’d be honored to walk beside you.
Therapy is a collaborative process and confidential space that helps you explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It's important to know that therapy can often feel harder before it gets easier—and that's completely normal. As we begin working through deep, painful experiences, it can feel overwhelming both emotionally and physically.
But here’s the truth: it does get better.
You deserve a space where you can pause, breathe, and reconnect with what truly matters. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and paced with intention—supporting your journey toward self-love, nervous system healing, and lasting transformation.
Because you’re not broken. You’re becoming whole.
I deeply value creating a space where you feel seen, heard, and truly understood. Your identity, culture, and values are not just acknowledged—they are central to our work together. Together, we’ll build a safe, empowering environment where you can navigate your challenges, rediscover your strengths, and cultivate the healing and growth you deserve—in a way that feels authentically aligned with who you are.
Generational Healing & Empowerment
You are not just healing for yourself—you are breaking cycles and reclaiming your power for future generations. My work supports you in unlearning cultural narratives that no longer serve you, healing inherited trauma, and stepping into a life of emotional freedom, self-trust, and joy.
Authenticity & Inner Wisdom
You were never meant to perform for love or abandon yourself to be accepted. Reconnecting with your truth—the version of you that existed before survival patterns, people-pleasing, or generational pressure taught you to shrink. Together, we create space for your authentic voice to rise and your inner wisdom to lead.
Relationship & Self-Worth Transformation
From breakups to family wounds, I help you break free from unhealthy patterns, set boundaries with confidence, and rebuild your sense of self-worth, emotional security, and authentic connection with yourself and others.
Holistic & Body-Centered Healing
Healing isn’t just in the mind—it lives in the body. I use somatic therapy, breathwork, parts work, and nervous system regulation to help you release stored trauma, reconnect with yourself, and feel safe in your own skin.
What Is Trauma? Trauma isn’t just what happened—it’s how your nervous system remembers and holds onto the pain.
When an experience overwhelms your ability to cope, your brain and body adapt for survival. But if trauma goes unresolved, it gets stored in the body—and continues to affect your thoughts, emotions, and relationships long after the event is over.
How Trauma Impacts the Nervous System ? Even if you logically understand the past, your body may still be stuck in fight, flight, freeze, or fawn mode. This is because trauma lives in your nervous system, not just your memory.
Until it’s processed at the body level, you may continue to feel unsafe, unseen, or stuck in survival even when life looks “fine” on the outside.
The Good News? Trauma Can Be Healed. Through somatic therapy, nervous system regulation, and tools like Brainspotting, you can release what’s been stored and rewire your system for safety, self-trust, and connection.
Brainspotting is a powerful, neuroscience-based therapy that helps you access and heal deep emotional wounds and trauma. It works directly with the brain-body connection to release unresolved emotions stored in the subconscious.
By identifying “brainspots”—eye positions linked to emotional or physical experiences—Brainspotting allows you to process and release trauma, anxiety, and tension at a deeper level, leading to lasting healing and relief.
Somatic trauma therapy is a holistic, body-centered approach to healing that recognizes the deep connection between the mind and body. Somatic therapy works with the physical sensations and experiences stored in the body to address trauma, stress, and emotional challenges.
Somatic therapy uses techniques such as breathwork, mindfulness, gentle movement, and body awareness to release these stored experiences, helping to restore balance and promote healing.
After your initial assessment, you'll begin your therapy journey and start healing. We'll work together to address your challenges, build coping strategies, and support your emotional growth, guiding you toward a healthier and more fulfilling life
Your first therapy session is an initial assessment where we’ll dive deeper into your background, current challenges, and goals for therapy. This session helps us create a personalized plan tailored to your unique needs, setting the foundation for your healing journey.
Our consultation call is a confidential 15-minute conversation designed to explore how therapy can support your mental and emotional well-being. During this time, we’ll discuss your current challenges, answer any questions you may have, and determine if we're the right fit to work together.
After my breakup finding someone I connected with and could be vulnerable about the aftermath and the relationship in general was really difficult. When I finally connected with Norma all my walls came down about being honest not only to her but myself about my relationship and the aftermath of it.
Finding someone that literally didn’t judge me and provided a safe space for me to heal at my own pace was my heart needed to mend. Now I’m a different part of my healing journey and taking ownership of my life and embracing all parts of me in the most authentic way possible. Working with Norma really provided me with the tools to regain my light.
There were just cultural aspects I didn’t have to explain, and that were just understood as we had shared identities. Her positivity and holistic approach also worked very well with me, and I think she continuously held the hope without being disingenuine.
What I found most transformative was her being a therapist but also showing up as human and when things were hard she held space and felt like she was with me in my journey rather than just an observer. Her care for me as a patient was palpable, even in an online setting. Especially having someone, again, who understands the cultural norms was helpful in me getting to explore or unlearn some problematic patterns.
Each session is about 50 minutes. The length of treatment varies greatly depending on individual needs. Some clients may feel significant improvement in a few months, while others choose to continue for a year or more. We’ll work together to determine the timeline that feels right for you.
All sessions are currently offered virtually to clients residing in the state of California. I have found that this approach allows for greater flexibility and convenience, enabling you to receive quality support from the comfort of your own home.
I use a secure platform that is HIPAA compliant to help protect your privacy. It is a very easy and reliable system. Within 24 hours of our scheduled appointment, you will receive a reminder about our session time. You will also receive a secure link directing you to the video-secure platform to begin our session during our appointment time.
I accept following insurances through a third payer company Octave: Anthem Blue Cross Of CA, Aetna, Cigna/Evernorth, Blue Shield of California, Out of state BlueCard PPO. If you do not have any of these insurances, I can provide you a superbill, if your insurance offers out-of-network benefits. I have also partnered with Thrizer, a service the streamlines to verify OON benefits, and allow clients to just pay a copay instead of waiting weeks for a reimbursement checks.
